《查泰莱夫人的情人》讲的是，康妮（康斯坦斯的爱称）嫁给了贵族地主查泰莱为妻，但不久他便在战争中负伤，腰部以下终身瘫痪。在老家中，二人的生活虽无忧无虑，但却死气沉沉。
